Sexy Beast is a dating game with a difference: participants are hidden by film-quality prosthetic makeup, so their suitors focus on their on personality, rather than looks.

We spoke to Simon Welton, the show’s executive producer for Lion Television (here in Cannes with all3media International), as well as “The Devil” and “Birdwoman“, two sexy beasts who’ll be doing the rounds at MIPTV this week!

“The idea is that you might be taken by someone who you wouldn’t look twice at in a bar,” said Welton. The show is currently in production, and is hoping to pick up international interest at MIPTV. “It’s a format that can easily travel, because everyone dates,” said Welton.
