Speaking about The Face, the modelling competition format she brought to MIPCOM 2013 with Shine International, supermodel Naomi Campbell discussed the show’s success to date; its appeal to people beyond those into in fashion (« it’s good for girls’ self-esteem », whatever their interests); how she enjoys her role as a producer on the show (a role she enjoys « because I’m bossy by nature »); and how The Face teaches aspiring models to deal with the industry’s highs and lows. « They have to have thick skin » if they get turned down for jobs, said Campbell. « I don’t want them to leave feeling bad about themselves; they were just not right for that particular job. »
