We spoke to Tagmotion CEO Andrew Simms at MIPCOM late 2011 (interview below).

Since then, the service has been preparing to launch this April, and has notably added online video service Vimeo to its repertoire. As this demo shows, its principle is simple: users can tag keywords said in any YouTube or Vimeo video to jump immediately to the relevant part of that video.

The demo uses the video of MIPCOM’s 2011 wrap session, and is as such a super-useful way to jump between the key TV trends we discussed then. Just click on the keywords!

As Simms explained at MIPCOM, his startup’s aim is not to help YouTube & co become TV replacements; rather to enable viewers to find what they want to watch more easily, and thereby increase (advertising) value of producers’ content online.
