“The personalisation of entertainment is the coolest thing we see happening,” Richard Bullwinkle, the chief evangelist of entertainment metadata firm Rovi told MIPBlog when we caught up with him at SXSW.
Why? Thanks to entertainment content’s metadata (tags, descriptions, titles) and EPGs (electronic programme guides) and the increasing use of connected devices such as tablets and smarthphones to consume that content. “My personal device is mine, it’s not someone else’s; so it knows the shows I like,” said Bullwinkle.
